Kate is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area but has spent the last 10 years living and working in Los Angeles. She received her bachelor's degree in design from the University of California Los Angeles. Kate has been designing for the web since 1995 and has worked on such properties as the Acura website, the original online episodic, 'The Spot', and GeoCities where she was the Senior Art Director. Prior to her tour with the Geekcorps, she was working as a freelance Designer and Art Director in Los Angeles.
While in Ghana, Kate worked with the advertising agency AdMedia FCB, a part of the Foote, Cone & Belding Africa Network. She spent her days in the AdMedia studio with Augustine and Aja, working on a steady diet of R&B and falling under constant ridicule for her inability to grasp Pidgin English.
