Ken has been involved in the computer industry for over 20 years. Initially focused on engineering and other technical aspects, in 1988 he founded, and ran for 10 years, Détente Technology, a systems software consulting firm that specialized in operating systems and network/internet software development. Starting with a staff of one, himself, Détente eventually grew to over 25 employees, generating yearly revenues of over $3M. Clients included industry heavyweights such as Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, Novell, SGI, Siemens, Hyundai, and others. In 1998 Détente was sold to Cadence Design Systems to form to core of the newly formed Embedded Systems Design Group. While at Cadence he was responsible for expanding the engineering team and helping with business development issues.
